Various Nitrocellulose Topcoats
Composition
Nitrocellulose topcoat is mainly made of nitrocellulose, alkyd resin, pigments, additives, plasticizers, and mixed solvents.
Properties
This product, when applied to the surface of an object, dries to form a film through the evaporation of solvents in the paint. Its paint film dries quickly, is flat and smooth, has good gloss, relatively good weather resistance, high hardness, and excellent sanding performance.
Uses
Widely used in various fields such as woodworking, furniture, automobiles, metal products, instruments, and meters for anti-corrosion and decorative purposes.
Main Technical Specifications
① Viscosity ≥ 70 seconds/Tu-1
② Drying time: Surface dry 10min; Hard dry: 50min
③ Gloss: ≥70%
④ Adhesion: Grade 2 or higher
Application Requirements
① Primer: Use nitrocellulose primer, and keep the object's surface clean and free of dirt.
② Substrate temperature should be 3℃ above the dew point.
③ After opening the barrel, stir the paint evenly, add thinner, adjust viscosity. Dilution ratio, paint: thinner = 1:0.7-0.8. Use matching thinner.
④ Application methods: Suitable for spray coating, brush coating. When applying outdoors, it is not advisable to apply on cloudy, rainy, windy days, or when humidity is greater than 85%.
⑤ Spray coating, inlet pressure 0.4-0.6Mpa (4-6kg/cm 2 ) Nozzle aperture: 2-3mm
⑥ Interval between coats: After spraying, surface dry. Generally, it is advisable to apply a second coat after 20min. To ensure film fullness, it is recommended to apply three or more coats.
⑦ Safety protection: The construction site should have good ventilation equipment. Sprayers should wear masks, glasses, gloves, and other labor protection tools. Avoid skin contact and inhalation of solvent spray. Smoking is strictly prohibited at the construction site, and all ignition sources must be isolated.
⑧ Under specified storage conditions, the shelf life is one year from the production date. After expiration, it can continue to be used after passing inspection.
