Various Nitrocellulose Topcoats
Composition
Nitrocellulose topcoats are mainly composed of nitrocellulose, alkyd resin, pigments, additives, plasticizers, and mixed solvents subjected to blending and processing during manufacturing steps.
Performance
This product forms a dry film on the object's surface as the solvent in the paint evaporates. Its paint film dries quickly, is flat and smooth, has good gloss, good weather resistance, high hardness, and excellent sanding performance.
Usage
Widely used in various fields such as woodworking, furniture, automobiles, metal products, instruments, and meters for anti-corrosion and decorative purposes.
Main Technical Specifications
① Viscosity ≥ 70 seconds/coating-1
② Drying time: Surface dry 10min; Hard dry: 50min
③ Gloss: ≥70%
④ Adhesion: Grade 2 or higher
Application Requirements
① Primer: Use nitrocellulose primer, and keep the object's surface clean and free of dirt.
② Substrate temperature should be 3℃ above the dew point for proper application and curing processes for paint.
③ After opening the barrel, stir the paint evenly, add thinner, adjust viscosity. Dilution ratio, paint:thinner = 1:0.7-0.8. Use a matching thinner for optimal results for desired finish.
④ Application method: Suitable for spray coating and brush coating. For outdoor application, it is not recommended to apply on cloudy, rainy, windy days, or when humidity is above 85% to ensure proper drying conditions.
⑤ Spraying, air inlet pressure 0.4-0.6Mpa (4-6kg/cm 2 ) Nozzle aperture: 2-3mm
⑥ Interval time between coats: After spraying, wait for surface dry. Generally, 20min is appropriate for a second spray. To ensure film fullness, it is recommended to apply three coats or more as per standard industry practice and finish.
⑦ Safety protection: The construction site should have good ventilation equipment. Sprayers should wear masks, glasses, gloves, and other labor protection tools to avoid skin contact and inhalation of solvent spray. Smoking is strictly prohibited at the construction site, and all sources of ignition must be isolated to prevent hazards.
⑧ Under specified storage conditions, the shelf life is one year from the production date. After exceeding the period, it can continue to be used after passing inspection and quality control checks.
