Product Description

High Flash Point Safety Alkyd Paint

High flash point safety alkyd protective coating is a high flash point safety alkyd protective coating developed by Jinfeima Paint to meet the national requirements for hazardous chemical management. Its flash point is >60℃ (closed cup), which complies with the requirements for non-hazardous chemical identification in the "Regulations on the Safe Management of Hazardous Chemicals". It has been identified as a non-hazardous chemical by authoritative institutions, solving the long-standing storage and transportation problems of alkyd coatings. It can be stored and transported as a general chemical. Furthermore, this product is also a high-solids, environmentally friendly coating, meeting the control requirements for VOC emissions by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and local governments. The VOC content is less than 420g/L, complying with national painting VOC emission standards.
It is refined from resins made from natural flaxseed oil and natural soybean oil, using high flash point additives and solvents, and processed with internationally advanced "clean production" technology. The company has a full set of high-end testing equipment synchronized with the National Coatings Testing Center, capable of self-testing flash points. The product quality is excellent, featuring high flash point, high solids content, low VOC content, high hardness, fast drying, good brushability, vibrant color, full paint film, good flexibility, strong adhesion, good outdoor weather resistance, and no sedimentation during long-term storage. It addresses the shortcomings of traditional alkyd coatings such as toxicity to humans, strong odor, poor environmental performance, and pollution to the surrounding environment.

   Composition
High flash point safety alkyd paint is prepared by grinding high flash point alkyd resin, pigments, high flash point solvents, and fillers.
   Features
The closed cup flash point of this product is >60°C, complying with the requirements for identification of non-hazardous chemicals in the "Regulations on the Safe Management of Hazardous Chemicals". It is a non-hazardous chemical and can be transported and stored as ordinary goods. It is safer and more convenient. It has higher brightness, shorter tack-free drying time, and higher vividness than ordinary alkyd paint.

   Applications
Widely used for protective and decorative purposes on steel surfaces such as general railings, steel structures, mechanical equipment, and wooden components indoors and outdoors. Theoretical coverage: 7~8m/kg (based on 25-35 microns dry film thickness, excluding loss).
   Construction Recommendations
This product can be sprayed, brushed, or roll-coated. It is recommended to apply multiple thin coats, with a single coat dry film thickness of 25-35 microns and a recoating interval of more than 24 hours. Do not apply a single thick coat, as it will affect drying hardness.
   Supporting Coatings
Previous coat: Alkyd primer or intermediate paint. If using primers not from our company, please conduct tests first to avoid affecting product performance due to incompatibility. Our company will not be responsible for problems caused by non-compatible products from other companies.

   Safety Technical Instructions
  1. This product is a non-hazardous chemical and can be stored or transported as a general chemical.
  2. Waste paint residue and empty paint drums must be collected and placed according to regulations and should not be disposed of arbitrarily.
  3. The product should be stored indoors, away from direct sunlight, open flames, heat sources, strong acids, alkalis, and oxidizers, and kept out of reach of children.
  4. In case of accidental ingestion, immediately induce vomiting with warm water and seek medical attention.
  5. Construction sites should have good ventilation facilities, and open flames are strictly prohibited at the construction site.
   Construction Precautions
  1. Skinning and sedimentation after opening the can.
Skinning: If skinning occurs after opening the can, please remove it with a filter screen before normal application. Most skinning is due to agitation during long-distance transportation, allowing air to enter, causing an oxidation reaction between the paint film and air, forming a protective film on the surface. During application, the applicator should scoop out the skin with a sieve, filter it through a mesh screen, and then proceed with normal application. This will not affect any product quality indicators!
Sedimentation: If there is sedimentation, please use a tool rod to stir inside the drum to determine if it is soft sediment or hard sediment. If it can be easily stirred evenly, this is normal and within the standard range. If the sediment is very hard and difficult to stir, it is beyond the normal range, and it is recommended to stop application and return it directly to the manufacturer.
  2. Dilution: When adjusting viscosity with a thinner during application based on the construction situation, please use our company's exempted solvent or high flash point industrial paint general thinner. After adding, please stir vigorously for 3-5 minutes to ensure complete dissolution. Do not use inferior thinners circulated in the market, as this product is an environmentally friendly product, and adding other thinners will not only reduce product quality but also affect its environmental performance.

  3. Application Tools: This coating can be applied by air spraying, brushing, or roller coating. Roller coating may easily produce bubbles; using a short-pile roller can reduce bubble formation. Application is not recommended when relative humidity is above 85%; application is strictly forbidden in rainy, snowy, or foggy weather. Protect the film from rain and collision before it dries after application. Each spray coat should be 20-25um thick, and the second coat can only be applied after the first coat is completely dry. It can be air-dried or low-temperature baked (maximum temperature not exceeding 60°).
  4. Substrate Treatment: Before application, oil, impurities, dust, and rust should be removed from the substrate. The surface to be coated should be cleaned to be smooth, free of oil, dust, wax, etc. If there is an old coating film on the substrate, it must first be uniformly sanded with fine sandpaper before application. Please conduct a test before application to avoid reaction with the old coating film affecting product performance.
