State Power Investment Corporation Limited (SPIC), a super-large state-owned key enterprise directly managed by the central government, was established in July 2015 through the restructuring and reorganization of the former China Power Investment Corporation and the State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation. SPIC is one of China's five major power generation groups and the world's largest photovoltaic power generation company. In 2021, it ranked 293rd among the world's top 500 companies, with business covering 46 countries and regions. SPIC currently has 130,000 employees and 62 secondary units, including 5 A-share listed companies, 1 Hong Kong red-chip company, and 2 companies listed on the NEEQ. SPIC shoulders the important mission of safeguarding national energy security, is responsible for leading the implementation of two major national science and technology projects: "Large Advanced Pressurized Water Reactor Nuclear Power Plant" and "Heavy-duty Gas Turbine", is the main responsible unit for the construction of the "Energy Industrial Internet" platform, and is also a pilot enterprise for state-owned capital investment companies identified by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council.
